Overview
PEV Scout ("we", "us", or "our") operates pevscout.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We collect the minimum necessary to run the site and will never sell your personal data.
Information We Collect
Email address
When you sign up for a price alert, we collect your email address to send you notifications. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any alert email.
Rider accounts
If you create an account, we store your email address, the username you choose, and a password handled by our authentication provider (Supabase); we never see the password itself. Anything you add to your profile (location, a short bio) and to your garage (the vehicles you own, nicknames, purchase dates, odometer readings, notes) is stored so we can show it back to you. Your garage and profile are private unless a future feature lets you choose to publish them, and we will say so clearly before that happens. Usernames are permanent; if yours reveals personal information, contact us and we will change it.
Usage data
We use analytics tools, Google Analytics 4 (via Google Consent Mode; analytics cookies are set only after you allow the Analytics category) and Vercel Analytics (cookieless), to understand how the site is used (pages visited, time on site, referral source, and key actions such as buy-button clicks and comparisons). This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Third-Party Services
We use third-party services that may collect data according to their own privacy policies, including analytics providers, advertising networks, and Supabase, which stores account credentials and our database. Affiliate links on this site may set cookies when you click through. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites or services.
Data Retention
We retain price alert subscriptions until you unsubscribe. Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your login, your garage and your profile are removed and your username is released; we keep a single record that an account with your email address existed, so a later sign-up with the same address starts empty rather than inheriting old data. Email us if you want that record removed as well. Analytics data is retained per our analytics provider's standard retention policy.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. If you have an account, you can download everything you have entered and delete the account yourself from your dashboard. For anything else, email contact [at] pevscout [dot] com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and accounts are for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
